I find it difficult to believe this little journal, hatched in a hazy conceptualization at Lou’s Corner Bar after one autumn workshop is growing before our collective eyes into a concrete reality of wonder and panache. Be there with us as the journal takes its first step on Thursday, March 27 at Assemble Pittsburgh, doors […]
Our deadline for the first issue of the After Happy Hour Review came to a close last Friday, February 21. AHHR editors have gotten a lot of great submissions to read and discuss. Though the deadline for this journal has passed, the journal’s staff will continue to read work on a rolling basis.
So what are you waiting for? Send your poems and prose to firstname.lastname@example.org. Cheers, Mike
Update: The workshop will plan to meet at Nico’s Recovery Room, this Thursday 7pm-9pm, featuring fiction from myself and flash fiction from Tyson Himes. The following week we’ll return to Lot 17. See you then!
Hey friends, I haven’t posted anything in a while, so what a great time to show off a brand new flyer created by the workshop’s very own Martin Van Velsen: Check out this press release here! So, now we’re really getting geared up for the much-anticipated release of the After Happy Hour Review. Editors have started […]

Approximately 70 people attended. The cookie table was well populated. Thank you to all the group members who went above and beyond to […]
I’m delighted to extend an invitation to our first reading this Thursday, December 12 from 8pm-10pm. We’re shifting the venue from The Inn to Assemble. I want to thank the staff at The Inn for all their time and hard work, and also thank Nina and Jess from Assemble for helping us out with some really […]
Before I get into the recaps. I really want to let you know you should come to our first reading – it’s going to be a blast .- https://www.facebook.com/events/441058106013846/ Two weeks ago our minds were smashed open by submissions from Mike Lambert and Gina Bacola. Mike’s fifth submission to the group continued his novel “Young People” […]
Hey everyone. Last night’s workshop was a blast. I hope you tip your whale-tender. In the meantime, listen to some seriously awesome music, featuring Dean Matthews on the drums. Listen! Then buy the album so you can listen all day long.
